In case you have been living under a particularly offline rock, this simple question has been dominating social media over the past couple of weeks or so. The reason is not so much the query itself, which to many might seem like a rather tame round of 'would you rather'. It's the answer that most women have been giving to it.

The controversy is that many have answered that they would prefer the bear, with the theory that it's easier to get a dangerous wild animal to leave you alone than some random dude who could have all kinds of weird and unsavory motives.
